Upper

The upper in these shoes is made of a lightweight synthetic material, which is coated for increased durability and water resistance. It has a snug close-fitting collar which makes the shoe feel secure and snug on the foot.

The upper is one of the best features of this shoe, as it provides a very good control over the ball. This is the result of the bumpy texture on the top front of the shoe. The rough surface allows you to dribble and pass the ball pretty effectively. We loved the feel of dribbling in these shoes.

Although the overall material of the upper is not breathable, some effort has been made to provide circulation by adding perforations to the toe area and the tongue (where your feet sweat the most). It is not a perfect solution, bu it is quite helpful to have.

Insole and Midsole

Both are made of EVA foam. The insole is removable but is good for high-arched feet.

The midsole is comfortable, responsive, and springy, just the way it should be. It reduces impact while running and the bounce is good.

Outsole

The outsole is gum rubber with well-placed studs suitable for turf. The grip is good, the shoes do not slip on the turf during runs or turns. Like other adidas shoes, the outsole is sturdy and durable, but should be limited to turf. Playing with these shoes is not recommended for uncovered, hard surfaces.

Fit

The Predator Edge.3 fits true to size and has a snug but comfortable fit. The adaptive collar makes it easy to get the shoe on and off, and it also gives a secure feeling around the ankle. Keep in mind though, that this sock collar does not provide actual ankle support.

Style

Like the previous Predator Edge, the .3 is also modern in style, with a sleek design. The sideways lacing is unique and allows for better ball control because it leaves the top free. That was a good idea but it does take some getting used to because we kept expecting the lacing to be at the top. But again, after a while we do get used to it :).

There is also a lace-less version of these shoes which is a pretty decent option, especially if you’re looking for convenience for you kids. They are a bit stiff when putting on the first few times but loosen up a bit with use.

Price

adidas Predator Edge.3 falls in the upper to mid-price range. It is good value for the money in terms of performance and durability.

Performance

We feel that the overall performance of these shoes was above average, although we also feel that the Mundial or Sense are superior in terms of comfort and performance. They win in the design department though. The new design of the adidas Predator Edge makes it look cool and is efficient, but it takes a while to adjust comfortably to it.
